Official FL-110 from Judicial Council of California
Form FL-110 is the Summons (Family Law) adopted for mandatory use by the Judicial Council of California. It is served on your spouse or domestic partner together with the petition and tells them a case has started, that they have 30 calendar days to file a Response (form FL-120), and what the court may order if they do not. Page two prints the standard family law restraining orders, which bind both parties from the moment the case is filed. With JustFill you upload the blank FL-110 PDF and fill the court, party and attorney details online.
FL-110 is the notice half of starting a California family law case, and JustFill turns the official two-page bilingual Judicial Council PDF into a fillable form in your browser. It rests on Family Code sections 232, 233, 2024.7, 2040 and 7700, and Code of Civil Procedure sections 412.20 and 416.60–416.90. The English and Spanish text runs side by side. You complete the court name and address, the respondent’s name, the petitioner’s name, and the name, address and telephone number of the petitioner’s attorney or of the petitioner filing without one. The clerk dates and signs it. Page two carries the four standard restraining orders and the notices about health insurance and jointly held property.
What each section of FL-110 asks for. JustFill’s AI will detect these fields automatically when you upload the PDF — review the breakdown below so you know what to enter.
The name and address of the superior court, printed in the box at the top, plus the case number assigned by the clerk.
The name of the person being served. This is the party who then has 30 calendar days to file a Response (form FL-120).
The name of the person who filed the petition.
The name, address and telephone number of the petitioner’s attorney, or of the petitioner if there is no attorney.
Date, clerk and deputy. This part is completed by the court, not by you.
Pre-printed and not filled in: neither party may remove minor children from the state or apply for a replacement passport for them; cash, borrow against, cancel or change beneficiaries of insurance; transfer, encumber, conceal or dispose of property outside the usual course of business or the necessities of life; or create or modify a nonprobate transfer, in each case without written consent or a court order.
